LAUNCH

(Part of the Tasmanian Disability Innovator Hub)

LAUNCH is a workshop series that empowers employees within the Tasmanian Disability Sector to unlock their capacity to lead change, drive innovation and foster entrepreneurial opportunities for those around them.

LAUNCH is not just a series of passive presentations – participants will actively develop and create projects to lead change in their own organisations and for those around them, actively developing entrepreneurial capacity that can activate long term change. Through building these projects, you will learn more about creative approaches to problem solving, designing with users in mind, financial management and much more!

Delivered by Tasmanian innovator Adam Mostogl (2015 Finalist for Young Australian of the Year & 2017 Anthill’s 30Under30 for Australian Entrepreneurs), there will also be plenty of opportunities to share, collaborate and learn about how innovation is driving impact and change around the world – and how you can develop this in your own organisation and with those you actively support.

And because of the support through the Tasmanian Disability Innovator Hub- LAUNCH is free to register for, for all Tasmanians who work in the disability sector.

Who can be part of LAUNCH?

LAUNCH is perfect for anyone who wants to drive change across the disability sector, no matter their current role. You do not have to be at a certain level in the organisation to participate, nor to you have to have a specific idea in advance of the workshop to develop in the workshop. The only requirements are the following;

  • You are currently working in a role that supports participants in the Tasmanian disability sector. This includes those who are working in larger organisations through to those who are just launching their own business for the first time.
  • You can commit to attending all three days of the workshop.

What is covered at LAUNCH?

Across the three days of LAUNCH, you will learn more about and develop skills in the following;

  • Understanding your personal strengths.
  • Skills in problem identification and solving.
  • Discovering value in new ideas to gain the support of others.
  • Working with stakeholders, and designing with their needs in mind.
  • Driving new ideas with impact.
  • Communication skills.
  • Financial knowledge to create sustainable solutions.
  • Developing a theory of change for new ideas.

And much much more. While the range of topics seem vast, they are all aligned around developing a new solution or service offering for the sector, allowing you to immediately apply the knowledge that is developed in the program as well as seeing how you can use it in other parts of your role.

who is delivering the sessions?

Adam Mostogl

CEO & Chief Entrepreneur, The van Diemen Project & Founder / Inspirer, illuminate Education Australia
2017 Australia’s Top 30 Under 30 Entrepreneurs // 2015 Finalist, Young Australian of the Year

In any given week, Adam Mostogl might be helping entrepreneurs to kick-start their business ideas, stimulating small businesses to challenge the status quo, challenging communities to understand their potential or teaching hundreds of students to embrace innovation to solve the problems of the future.

Adam is passionate about embracing creative and innovative solutions to common problems, with experience across a wide variety of industry areas. As the CEO & Chief Entrepreneur of The Van Diemen Project, every single day is focused on making opportunities matter – through helping more people start businesses with confidence, supporting existing businesses to grow and be resilient in these changing times, kickstarting social enterprises, running engaging workshops and events as well as private advisory work to help larger organisations change for the better.

His passion for this has come from his work with young people, where since 2010 over 17,000 students have undertaken entrepreneurial education programs lead by Adam as the Founder / Inspirer of illuminate Education Australia, which focuses on inspiring students to be the confident, creative and capable people they have the potential to be. Not only are these programs changing the lives of young Australians, it is shifting the way schools across the nation teach and inspire students with the skills that they need to thrive.

Adam was announced as Tasmania’s Finalist for Young Australian of the Year in 2015, and in 2017 was the only Tasmanian listed in Anthill’s 30under30 list for Australian entrepreneurs under the age of 30. In 2017, he was chosen to participate in the International Visiting Leaders Program to study innovative ecosystems as a guest of the US State Department. In 2018 and 2019, Adam was selected to attend UNLEASH, the world’s largest innovation process focused on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals as a participant (in 2018 in Singapore) and a facilitator (in 2019 in Shenzhen).

"Adam is awesome! He’s approachable, professional, and leader in his field. He has given me many insightful suggestions, leads, encouragement and overall support helping me move forward..."
